Up & Down

The boys have learned both the meaning and how to say "Up" and "Down". They now practice every day in their boxes (which they LOVE) or when standing on anything, like the couch, the ottoman, or the coffee table (which Mommy and Daddy HATE).

Cheerio! (said in a British accent)

Mommy went downstairs to take a phone call with her office manager.  While she was down there, she heard the crinkling of plastic and out-of-control laughter from coming from the baby monitor in the living room.  The phone call was over within 3 minutes, and this is what she came upstairs to:  Gabe and Liam having a blast dancing all over the Cheerios (I think Liam was the instigator of this activity since he was the one holding the plastic when I came back upstairs).  Anyway, mommy figured, "Eh, what does it matter when I clean it up?  Enjoy dancing kiddos."

Also note how each boy only has 1 sock on... that's their other new thing to do.

New Sleeping Arrangements

Mom and Dad were getting tired of sneaking into their room at night only to wake up Gabe each and every time.  We decided that it was time for the boys to be together in their own room.  This is a picture taken with the flash on from the first time they were put down in this new set-up.  Joe and I were downstairs and heard the giggling so hard.  When we peaked in they were both stand up looking at each other and laughing.  So very cute.

Big Boy Chairs

We bought these from Kmart for $3 a piece.  They don't sit in them for very long and they quickly become objects that just get pushed about whenever they are brought in from outside... so it was recently decided that their permanent home is outside.

Oh Liam (said with a shaking of the head)

Sharon Woods

Less than a 15 minute drive from where we live is a state park, Sharon Woods. It costs $10/year/family for a pass... and we think it's worth every penny. There's a fun playground with fountains, a concession stand, lakes with boating activities available, long, paved paths through the woods and huge, wide-open fields. In this mom's humble opinion, the fields are the best part - being able to release the boys onto them to just run around and do their thang makes them very nice and tired.

Gabe LOVES pushing the stroller.

Here's Liam pushing the stroller for a bit.  He doesn't stay with it as long as Gabe though.

Sticky situations.

The boys really started to enjoy crawling under this chair and then getting stuck behind it.  I think they learned that when they got stuck and cried, their mommy would come over and pick them  up.  Mommy stopped this game by pulling the chair away from the wall.  Now they just hide behind it and play peek-a-boo with each other.

Papa and Nana - Nana = just Papa

Nana wouldn't get in the picture because she felt her hair was looking a little flat :)

First haircuts

The boys really needed to see their Uncle Todd, so we stopped in DC for a bit on our way home.  While we were there, the boys stole two of Oliver's toys, which we will be returning to him over Labor Day weekend, and got their haircut.

We only got pictures of Liam initially getting his hair cut because it became evident very quickly that this was a 4-man job (Todd, Joe and Lisa with one child getting his cutting hair; Sarah running after the other one).

How awesome is our camera?!?!  It apparently blurs out vulgar gestures... I'm guessing Todd was giving us the middle finger in this picture.  I wonder if it will beep out any curse words when we are video taping stuff?

Liam and his Godfather :)

Life at the beach... ah.

Unfortunately, we didn't bring our camera down until the last day at the beach, so we don't have any pictures of Annie and Jonathon or Ali and TJ :(
